MDMA is mostly contained in Ecstasy tablets. However, they don’t always contain MDMA only, but sometimes also other drugs like mephedrone, methylone, mCCP or other substances. The interaction – especially with MDMA – has barely been researched.
Ecstasy tablets are often very highly dosed. If drug checking is not possible, you should not take more than one third of a tablet as the first dose.
Avoid poly use. Alcohol and MDMA does not go well together, speed interferes with the spectrum of efficacy of MDMA!
The combination of MDMA and MAOIs/antidepressants increases the serotonin concentration in your brain extremely. It can come to convulsions (epileptic seizures) and circulatory collapse. The poly use of MDMA and MAOIs leads to a slowed reduction of MDMA in the body and therefore to a possible life threatening MDMA concentration.
Don’t consume more often than every 6 weeks, otherwise your serotonin level doesn’t have the possibility to refill itself and it can lead to depressions.
You should only consume MDMA with people you know well and trust. Only do MDMA when you’re doing well.
Don’t forget to drink sufficient amounts of fluids when dancing. Otherwise the risk of dehydration exists.
People with the following medical conditions should under no circumstances do Ecstasy: asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular regulation dysfunction. Mentally instable persons are strongly advised from consumption.
Certain interactions with medications pose a high health risk. Generally the intake of any intoxicants should be abstained from under required intake of medication.
You have the feeling you have been consuming too much? The local drug counsellors are happy to help you along!
MDMA can reduce inhibitions and increase the willingness to risky sex. The abstinence from safer sex increases the risk of infection with HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
MDMA makes it difficult to get/maintain a hard-on or to ejaculate. The combination Viagra and XTC (“Sextasy”) resolves this problem for many people – attention: the heart is being doubly strained. This can on the other hand lead to a long lasting erection (after a few hours this leads so damages to the penis – by all means ask for medical help).
Sex and drugs only work under mutual consent and great trust. Clear beforehand which sexual practices both partners want and which not.
Only consume so much that you still can defend yourself and still recognise the defence mechanisms of your partner.
Before getting down to business, get sufficient amounts of sex utensils (gloves, condoms, lubricant) ready
Pay attention to your body! If you notice any abnormalities, go to the doctor immediately. When having changing sex partners get tested for sexually transmitted diseases every 6 months and get vaccinated against hepatitis A/B.
HIV & MDMA
Take drugs and HIV medicine temporally offset. That may be able to lessen the interaction a bit. Always dose drugs low when taken simultaneously with medicine. The night often turns long – bring enough medicine along and keep your intake times. Talk to your doctor about the interaction between your HIV medicine and intoxicants!
The intake of protease inhibitors (above all Norvir) / NNRTI and XTC can lead to life-threatening amounts of the active ingredient in MDMA in your blood.
