Safer use:
► After taking LSD, you’ll probably notice a high after between 30 minutes to an hour. Effects can vary based on the user’s emotional state. LSD doesn’t automatically produce a positive, controllable experience but can enhance the present state of mind and bring up suppressed emotions.
► LSD can disable your typical control mechanisms and habits.
► The drug may intensify emotions and bring up repressed thoughts. It is common for users to experience negative emotional experiences perhaps triggered by a break-up, the death ofa loved one or a job loss.
►LSD use can sometimes trigger seizures in people with epileptic conditions. Those with epilepsy should avoid the drug.
►LSD should be avoided if you suffer from schizophrenic pychoses, bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder.
►Don’t use LSD on a full stomach and make sure you’re in a good mood before using.
►Only do LSD with people you know and trust.
►Using too much LSD? Drug counselors can help you.
Safer sex:
►LSD can affect your view of reality leading to blurred boundaries and prompting you to live out sexual fantasies. You could have unsafe sex, which would increase the possibility of infection with HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
►Sex and LSD only mix if partners trust each other. There is always the danger of a bad trip. You should only mix the two if you know each other and the drug’s effects on your bodies well. Clarify beforehand how far you are willing to go.
►Use low dosages so you can stay conscious of the world around you and can recognize your partner’s defense mechanisms.
►Before getting down to business be sure you have enough lube, gloves and condoms.
►Pay attention to your body. If you notice something wrong, go to the doctor immediately. If you have many sex partners be sure you are being tested for sexually transmitted infections every six months. And get vaccinated against hepatitis A and B.
►If you are living with HIV and are taking LSD, consult with a doctor. There are generally no dangerous acute conditions that can arise from using LSD with HIV drugs. But there could be an unwanted intensification of your trip.
